Photo of a blue-grey casket on wooden sawhorses, in front of a blue, curtained archway, set up in an alcove. There are flowers on top of the casket and behind the curtained structure. The walls behind are white with ornate designs on the upper part of the wall, and blue-grey on the lower part of the walls to the wainscotting. There’s a small, wooden bench with blue, padded seat on either side of the image.

He’d written his own eulogy, a glowing review of how wonderful he was.

He couldn’t trust anyone else to write it. They were all ingrates and failures.

Who’s to say they’d show up at his funeral anyway?

Most of them had stopped talking to him, long before he died alone.
